GRAINS OF SAND
“The Falling Roots” is an interpretation of humans relationship with surrounding nature. Inspired by the epic scale of the Banyan trees, and being one of the largest trees in the world, the proportion between human and nature is presented. This comparison is to not only show physical scale between us and our earthy counterpart, but to highlight our inferiority to a planet that has long existed before our species. The pathway is suggestive of an abstract earth timeline, with only one human existing, very tiny on this path walking into a light void. This piece explores the mighty power of the environment we exist on for a short moment in time, and how the earth has and will continue to grow eternally beyond our species inhabitation.
