Queerness is not an exception - it’s part of the natural world. In spite of this, human societies have often responded to queerness by singling it out and attempting to suppress it.

But queerness finds ways to remain in the zeitgeist through codes and symbols legible to those who know how to read them. Queer symbolism in art has been a part of artistic tradition for centuries.

This work explores queerness through symbols drawn from nature. This exhibit pairs elements from nature with queer individuals to create a symbolic connection - a reflection of queerness shared across both human and non-human realms.
